Bud Murphy’s Fall Foliage Ride/Walk

This fun ride or walk along the Great Allegheny Passage starts at Yough River Park in Connellsville, and heads in either direction, toward West Newton or Ohiopyle, depending on your choosing. While in Connellsville, check out the Bananas for Bikes exhibit of vintage bicycles displayed in downtown storefronts. Proceeds from this event benefit the Yough River Trail Council.

GAP Relay presented by UPMC Health Plan

The GAP Relay presented by UPMC Health Plan is a two-day non-stop relay challenge that you won't want to miss. Relay teams will tackle 150 or 60 miles that include relay legs of varying distances along Great Allegheny Passage from Pittsburgh's South Side to Cumberland.

Join Rivers of Steel for a community conversation featuring Amy Camp, author of Deciding on Trails: 7 Practices of Healthy Trail Towns. Sharing insights from her book and stories of places that have embraced trails and tourism, Amy will reveal her motivation for writing “the book for trail towns,” and discuss how her background in trails and community development began as a personal journey that has blossomed into international community.

Halloween Fun at Meyersdale Station

Ride out to the Meyersdale Area Historical Society's Halloween Fun at the Station event on Saturday, October 30. A cast of historical characters representing local and national figures will be on hand to greet visitors. Explore the model railroad and artifacts from the Western Maryland Railway, including a real caboose painted in livery colors. Enjoy halloween treats and take a spin over the nearby Salisbury Viaduct.

Month of Mud Ohiopyle

Ohiopyle State Park

A competitive mountain bike race in varying classes with eligibility for a Super D time trial run with some climbing. The course is not on the Great Allegheny Passage but on single-track within Ohiopyle State Park, including McCune and Sugarloaf Trails. Registration required! Spend the day racing or watching those who dare!
